Phnom Penh’s Weekend Ahead

It’s a fantastic Phnom Penh weekend. We have Miss Sarawan seemingly everywhere in the city at once while making us fall in love with Phnom Penh golden era feels. There’s art classes, live music, late night Dutch djs and a whole load of farewell gigs.

 

Friday

16:00, Rufus, Aussie XL, St. 88

Rufus sets up his last gig tonight by the pool with all of Aussie’s deeply satisfying comfort foods available to bring in that sweet sweet weekend. 

17:00, Voodoo Closing Party, Voodoo Boulevard, St. 258

DJ Yoyo is celebrating the end of a 4 year journey at Voodoo. For regulars who are sad to see the joint go it’s a must and for those less familiar with the bar there are some great discounts on as all the stock must go!

18:30, Back to 1960s, Ruby Jack, Sofitel, Sothearos 

Go all in for an evening of old school Cambodian glitz and glamour with some live music from the always just wonderful Miss Sarawan up on the 42nd floor. You can reserve tickets here.

 

 

19:00, Penh Pals Farewell: The Last Waltz, Tacos Kokopelli, St. 19 Z

Back to where it all started for 3 pals who met and formed a band years ago. Seems like there is nowhere better for them to perform that great farewell show. All the usual delicious food is available in addition to Cubano sandwiches just for tonight.

Kick off the weekend with some modern Khmer pop tunes over in the garden at Botanico.

Rock your wee Indie hearts out with We are Ewe followed by Pocket Change at the ‘best damn bar!’

This feature film uncovers the life of the legendary face of many annoying backpacker’s t-shirts, But, this film also dives into the lesser known real life politics and violence that was such a huge part of why Marley was the man who he became.

6th floor on the rooftop of the stunning Baitong hotel is the perfect venue to see these guys bash out some great tunes.

The old school Phnom Penh vibes of this weekend continue as Miss Sarawan is once again on stage and this time joined by Scoddy to bring some classics to your weekend.
