Discover Sambo: Soviet Martial Art Classes
Calling all budding martial artists: Sambo classes are available every week next to the Olympic Stadium.
Created in the last century, Sambo is the new kid on the block when it comes to Martial Arts – and now Phnom Penh can give it a try, for free!
Translating as ‘self-defence without weapons’, this Soviet martial art and combat sport takes place every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The classes promise to teach you to fall, strike, take down and keep an opponent pinned to the ground. A fantastic workout and a confidence builder, the Sambo instructors hope to see a rise in awareness of the Russian style compared to commonly known martial arts such as Karate and Judo.
All levels are welcomed, with a special drop-in price of only $5 per session available. A monthly discount is available at $40 offering access to up to 12 of the classes. At the moment your first class is free.
Mondays & Wednesdays 7.30pm – 9.30pm and Saturdays 12.30pm – 2.15pm, Tatami Room, Aikido-Judo Association, Olympic Stadium.
