Feel free to celebrate ‘Murica

Which Phnom Penh venue will trump the others with their July the 4th celebrations? We had a look at who’s contending for your custom…

Yanks, and those who enjoy a little beer pong and cheese from a tube, will be looking towards July 4th with great excitement.

So, Phnom Penh, what do you have planned for us this year?

Let’s start with a party option, the lively Mad Monkey Hostel is throwing a party to ‘Make Phnom Penh Great Again’.  Serving up hotdogs, burgers and fries, we’re invited to a backyard barbecue at the Sunset Bar. Get a free jug of beer if you’re dubbed the best-dressed in the American-style costume costume, watch out for drinking competitions and engage in a themed edition of their evening pub crawl.

While we’re at it, let’s continue the lively vibes with a trip over to Nagaworld. The night promises a wide selection of American hits and encourages you to wear Red, White and Blue. They’ll be live music and drink specials to heighten the appeal of the event, lovely.
9pm-3am, Nagaworld, Samdech Techo Hun Sen Park

If the weather is kind, then a glorious day-session is on the cards at Lone Star Saloon, as they’ve got an American BBQ planned. With Pork Ribs, Beef Brisket, BBQ plates, Ham and all the trimmings (potato salad, green beans, devilled eggs, corn on the cob) and even a slice of pie on the menu for the fair price of $12. They’re going to help keep quench your thirst with $2 bourbon specials all day.

Those BBQs sound great, but to make life more difficult we’re throwing in a third delicious choice. Over at Atlas Grill House they’re promising all those American stables on their BBQ: Buffalo wings, hot dogs, burgers, ribs, pulled pork, corn on the cob, coleslaw, watermelon and more. Whilst pricing isn’t noted, we’re told they’ll have bourbon specials too, along with watermelon margaritas and special red, white and blue cocktails.

We like to include alternative options, incase the BBQs aren’t your thing. Let’s have a look at the ‘premium’ options.

Experience a traditional lunch & dinner at La Coupole, tweaked with an American touch. Their buffet is themed as ‘Murican, and in the evening it’s paired with a ‘seafood paradise’ accompaniment. Fancy a tipple? There’s even a free flow upgrade for American wines and beers, we always did love a good Californian white…

Last but not least, business professionals are invited to mingle over at Raffles. Enjoy appetizers, wine and beer whilst you celebrate the 4th of July. There’s a discount available for members too, and booking in advance offers a discount for non-members.
