Get Into the Festive Spirit at Raintree’s Christmas Market

What’s more Christmassy than pottering around a market, hot chocolate (or something stronger) in hand, searching for presents while grazing delicious comfort food?

What’s more Christmassy than pottering around a market, hot chocolate (or something stronger) in hand, gushing over gifts while grazing delicious comfort food?

If that image gets you misty-eyed with nostalgia, you’re in for a treat this weekend. Raintree is transforming its central Phnom Penh rooftop into a two-day festival of all things Christmas… and we can’t wait!

What’s On Offer?

There’ll be food, drink, live music, a pop-up market with stalls from some of Phnom Penh’s best independent brands and artisans, and even a “kid’s corner” with traditional (and adorable) activities to keep little ones entertained.

The Market

At the pop-up market, there will be a superb range of gorgeous gifts to peruse, including handmade jewellery by Penh Lenh and Stephanos, sustainable furniture by Alchemy Design, chic clothing, shoes and accessories by Amboh, Beekeeper Parade, Repleat, Dorsu, Frankitas, Un été à Kep-sur-Mer and Mantraband, stationery and homewares from Little Bit of Grace, Lor Yu Yu and Living IChing Decor, prints, illustrations and live portraiture by N.o.w.h.e.r.e, manicure kits and nail art by The Nail Shop, natural soaps by Saffron & Rose, flowers and wreaths by Poise Mera, and “eccentric toys” by Vintage Interior.

Plus, delectable edible gifts by Atelier Kampot, Samai Rum Distillery, the specialty Chinese tea company Teaspec… and Bloom Cakes, who are creating amazing gingerbread houses!

Food & Drink

For sweet treats, Crumbs Bakery will provide cookies and Chocolate by H will whip up amazing handmade chocolates, while Brown Coffee & Bakery will also serve special Christmas-inspired coffee delights.

Savoury snacks will be on hand in the shape of Roots & Burgers’ Christmas beef baos, Eleven One Kitchen’s Khmer curry rice bowls and rolls, and Village Roast Duck’s Peking duck rolls and crispy wonton bites.

For a cheeky tipple, there will also be elegant cocktails from La Familia and delicious craft beers from Craft Brew House.

When to Go

Friday

The celebrations kick off on Friday evening. The market gets into swing and you can tuck in to yummy food and excellent cocktails while swinging your hips to festive jazz and funk, courtesy of a great band coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur.

Saturday

On Saturday, the team add more family-friendly activities and crafts into the mix, including cookie decoration, gingerbread houses, balloon-animals, and face painting, as well as a 12-person acapella choir singing carol music, for a real festive feel!
