Every October, artists from all over the globe join the Inktober Drawing Challenge, creating an ink drawing every day for the whole month. This year, Phnom Penh participants have to chance to show their work at one of the city’s top art spots.
For the whole of October, Neverland Art Space is holding an Open Call for its Inktober Art Exhibition, which will open its doors on 1st November.
Who Can Take Part?
Everyone is welcome to participate, from beginners through to seasoned pros. There are also a bunch of events, activities and classes throughout the month to help you create your masterpiece, including an Inktober take on these regular sessions:
Need some inspiration? How about sketching a live model? Entry is $3 and ink is provided, but bring any other art materials you want to use.
Billed as an “art therapy” session, the idea of the class is to let go, lose yourself in the creative process and forget the stresses of the week. Ink is provided and the class is totally free.
What is Inktober?
This is a challenge to help you improve your inking skills and to help you get into the habit of creating every day. It was started in 2009 by the illustrator Jake Parker and has since, in his words, “exploded”, with tens of thousands of artists (and enthusiasts) taking part in the challenge each year.
