Laughter is good for the soul, and also the impoverished
Familiar funnyman stands up as a volunteer, proving that laughter isn’t just the best medicine but also a gift. This will be your last chance to see his show, with all proceeds going to charity.
If we had to pick just one face to champion the Cambodian comedy circuit in Phnom Penh, it’d have to be Sam Thomas. His passion and commitment to providing quality stand-up in the city has to be admired. We’ve seen him pop up, and host many an event in many a venue – but this Tuesday (18th June) marks the last show of his recent one hour solo set.
It’s bound to be an amusingly enthralling recap of Sam’s years in Cambodia with ‘unique absurdities’ promised, relating to the encounters faced by foreigners living and travelling abroad.
Entry is priced to give you bang for your buck, as only $1 is needed to attend and better yet it goes fully to the Cambodian Children’s Fund! We have to tip our hats to the host(s) both funny-man Thomas and hostel giants Mad Monkey for donating towards education and affordable housing to impoverished families across the country.
8.00pm , Tuesday 18th June at Mad Monkey (in their top floor lounge), Street 302. Entry $1, reserve a place via email to livecomedyincambodia@gmail.com.
