Namaste India Opens New Eatery in BKK1

A second branch of the much-loved Indian restaurant opens its doors on St 63.

The streets of Phnom Penh are not lacking in the spiced aroma of sub-continent cuisine. Indian food has established itself, over the past few years, as one of the top options for Phnom Penh foodies. In this competitive market, newcomers really need to stick out. It helps, of course, if you already have a stellar reputation to work off.

The beloved Namaste on St. 308 is a firm favourite. For some, it is one of the blurred sight on their peripherals as they stumble towards Red Bar or Bassac Lane. While for most, it is a treasury of great Indian food in an intimate setting. Luckily for those stomachs that can’t get enough fish tikka in Phnom Penh: Namaste is opening a second restaurant on St. 63 (corner of 294).

The Namaste team will offer their delicious variations on classic Indian food with modern twists in the brand new eatery, opening on the 12th July. The new restaurant will entice the hungry clientele through a chic, modern and minimalist design that, much like the food, is high end quality.

The original restaurant was opened in 2016, and in that time has grown to be a favourite among the discerning palettes of Phnom Penh’s international customer base. Sandeep Goyal, co- owner, explained that when he moved from Australia he knew right away that he wanted to get on board with the brand. “I loved Namaste India and wanted to join the journey to expand,” say’s Goyal. “We are looking forward to continuing to provide great Indian food to Phnom Penh.”

His co-owner Roshan Gairola is clearly passionate about expanding his beloved restaurant. “We loved serving Phnom Penh great Indian food for the last 2 years, “he tells us. “My team and I are thrilled to begin an exciting new journey with Namaste India at BKK1.”

The new restaurant will delight customers with mouth watering and unique specials like tandoori broccoli and Bharwan Aaloo – an egg-shaped kebab crafted from potatoes mashed with herbs, filled with cauliflower dried plums and pine nuts.

The new restaurant is just the beginning, too. Namaste plans to open four more across Cambodia by the end of the year. So no matter where you are, you’ll be able to dig in to a delicious Indian feast.

Namaste India is open from 10am-11pm daily on St 63 (corner of St. 294) Check them out here: www.namasteindia.asia
