Public Lecture at the CICP

Dr. Melissa Curley will give a fascinating lecture at the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace.

Come on guys, it is already Friday. Really, must we go to work? If the answer to that is no and you do not feel like taking to the ice cold Cambodia’s before midday, then we have the solution for you.

The Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace is hosting a public lecture in their conference hall tomorrow morning from 8:30-11: 30. There shall also be some delightful refreshments being presented until midday.

Dr Melissa Curley will present what is set to be a fascinating lecture on “Cambodia’s Strategic Role in R2P and Mass Atrocity Prevention”.

Dr. Curley is the Director at the UQ Rotary Peace Centre, and Senior Lecturer in International Studies at the University of Queensland.

Before joining the School in January 2006, Dr. Curley was a researcher in the China-ASEAN project at the Centre of Asian Studies at the University of Hong Kong, where she also coordinated a consultancy project on Southeast Asian affairs for the Hong Kong Government’s Central Policy Unit. She holds a Ph.D in International Relations from Nottingham Trent University in the UK, and a BA (Hons) in Government from UQ.

Her research and teaching interests include Southeast Asian politics and international relations, Cambodian politics and post-conflict reconstruction, and non-traditional security in East Asia (including trafficking in persons and migrant smuggling, pandemic disease and child protection issues).
