We have drag queens, boat parties, exciting new exhibitions and a whole bunch of live music to set you up right for a pre-Valentine’s weekend.

 

Friday

 

What’s On Stage

The Broken Cymbal, 8:30pm, The Hideout, Sisowath Quay

The acoustic feeling duet of Anthony on guitar and Cati on vocals will bring you some 1920s inspired chill vibes to kick off the weekend at a nice easy pace.

No Problem Disco Feat. Boho Project, 10pm, Backstreet Bar, St. 308

No Problem Disco team up with Boho Project to sesh you into the early hours this Friday night. 

 

Penh Pals with Sam Thomas, 7:30pm, SpeakEasy Theatre, St. 244

Local comic hero Sam Thomas hosts a night of music, comedy and booze.m Excellent Friday night activity!

 

Le Fin, 9pm, Good Times- X, St. 174

Inspired from the eclectic mix of jazz, hip hop and electronic heard on the streets of the UK and Shanghai, Le Fin promises to provide tunes this evening with ‘aquatic tendencies’, this set kicks off from 9pm.

 

What’s On The Wall

Passing for Protection, 5pm-10pm, Hops Craft Beer Garden, St. 228, 

Passing for Protection is a photojournalism exhibit documenting protected area landscapes across Cambodia, which accounts for 40% of its landmass. The exhibition is on until the 19th but it opens tonight with complimentary refreshments available from 6:30pm and an opportunity to meet some fantastic environmental journalists doing amazing work in Cambodia.

Amine Stambouli whips up some of the finest cocktails in town with the help of Massenez Spirits Degustation with a live DJ set keeping up the ambience with this opulent event. Entry is $30 and cocktails are $10 each.

Tin Hat Grand Opening, 12pm, TTP, St. 123

The Tin Hat in TTP is finally completing its 3 month long journey to opening night. Things kick off around midday with live music, DJ sets and karaoke!

 

Srey Ka & K’n’E plus Green Leaf Motif, 10pm-1am, Oscar’s On The Corner, St. 104

Get down to the ‘best damn bar’ in town for an old fashioned night of excellent live music and cheap beer. 

 

9 Drag Queens, 8:30pm, Duplex, St. 278

Let’s celebrate Valentine’s in style this year. Get down to Duplex for 9 ridiculous and fabulous drag queens owning the stage from 8:30pm.

On Air with Malikebrooks, 10pm, Backstreet Bar, St. 308

 In the mood for some of the 90’s absolute biggest house tunes? Well DJ Manlikebrooks has got you sorted in Backstreet from 10pm

Valentine’s Blood Drive, 8:30am-11:30am, National Blood Transfusion Center, Preah Ang. Doung Hospital, St. 271

 

In 2022, demand for blood in Cambodia soared to over 100,000 units, an increase of over 20%! The kingdom desperately needs that delicious juice flowing through your veins so get yourself down to the blood drive on Saturday or Sunday morning. RSVP here so they have an idea of numbers and remember to bring some ID and your Covid vaccine docs if you have them. 

 

Night Market at Coconut Park, 4pm-10pm, Koh Pich

A family and doggo friendly Saturday night outing and an opportunity to check out and support some local independent businesses. 

 

Deepart Group Exhibition, 6:30pm,  L’Atelier d’erick Gonzalez, St. 288

A collective exhibition bringing together a whole bunch of cultures, disciplines and general approaches to art. Get down there from 6:30pm to look at the work from 10 artists, from six countries showcasing work mostly focusing on image and poetry. 

 

Sunday

Galentin’e Day Boat Party, 4:30pm, Crocodile River Cruise

Best way to shake off the cobwebs of a long weekend is by getting on a mother freaking boat. Enjoy gently floating between the Mekong and Tonle Sap’s crossing streams while listening to some great jazz from Intan Andrianana and Phnom Penh Swing. 

 

Joe and The Jumping Jacks, 10pm, Oscar’s on The Corner, St. 104

Get yourself down to the Best Damn bar this Sunday evening for some excellent live music from the always wonderful Joe and The Jumping Jacks.
