Happy Water Festival! The celebrations are underway and fireworks are lighting up the sky (see our guide to where to watch them here). While a lot of places are closed for the holiday, there are still parties to be found if you know where to look! Here are the highlights.

Friday

What’s On… The Menu

Farm to Table (9am-9pm, St 360) and Eleven One Kitchen (7pm-11pm, St 123) each host special Water Festival brunch and BBQs today, and there are rooftop parties at Cloud9 Skybar (6pm, St 136) and Veata SkyLounge too (4.30pm-6.30pm, Mekong View Tower, Chroy Changvar).

Perhaps the biggest of the bunch, though, will be the Angkor Beer-sponsored Water Festival party at the Night Market, where there’s also a celebration of Golden Age Cambodian rock’n’roll (6pm-late, Sisowath Quay).

What’s On… Stage

Alongside the Water Festival foodie options, Phil O’Flaherty plays a “Celtic Roots” set at Farm to Talbe (6.30pm-8.30pm). Elsewhere, easy-listening covers band B-Pure play Duplex (8.30pm-Midnight, St 278) and house rock band K’n’E perform at Oscar’s On the Corner (10pm-1am, corner St 13 & St 104).

At TK Avenue in Tuol Kork, the focus is on Khmer music, with a ton of live performances to celebrate the Water Festival (4pm-7pm, St 315).

What’s On… Late

Hip hop hero 12ME is joined by El Moreno at Tusk House tonight (from 9pm, St 278), while

Soul Iration & Friends play an awesome reggae set at Top Banana (9pm-2am, St 278).

Across the road at Club Love, DJ Blazian gets the party going at the Water Festival Party (11pm-4am; entry $5 including two beers or one cocktail), and at Pontoon Pulse, the “Twisted Minds Collective” (Sushi, Disc Joshi, Crappy Beats & Heka) take over the decks (11pm-6.30am, St 51)

Saturday

Eleven One, Veata SkyLounge and Farm to Table all hold second Water Festival Parties today (see Friday’s listings).

What’s On… Stage

TK Avenue continues with a second day of live Khmer pop (see Friday’s listings).

Pop-rockers Boxchords play at FCC Rooftop tonight (8.30pm-11:30pm, Foreign Correspondent’s Club, Sisowath Quay), Euphoria are at Duplex (8.30pm-Midnight, St 278) and, at Cloud, there’s an open Jam Session with a sound system and mics on hand if you want to bring your instrument and join in (6pm-11pm, St 9).

What’s On… Screen?

What’s On… Late

It’s all about disco funk and soul at Alchemy’s Go Funk Yourself night (8pm-Midnight, St 123). In BKK, B-Fox DJs at dusk, at DJ Sequence of Phnom Penh Underground plays the Water Festival Party at Club Love (11pm-4am, St 278; $5 entry includes two beers or one cocktail).

What Else?

Rather spend the holiday unwinding than raving? Get out to the little oasis that is OutPost for a yoga session (10am-11am, behind the Sokha Hotel) or head to Enso Healing Space for “Full Moon Relaxation” based on yoga nidra principles (5.30pm-7pm, St 240).

Sunday

What’s On… The Menu

Grab a beer or some grub at either of these two massive pool parties today: Eighty8’s Sunday Session (3pm-11pm, St 88) or the Heineken-sponsored event in Hotel Cambodiana’s luxurious pool (3pm-8pm, Sisowath Quay).
