What’s On Screen
At 6:30pm The Bophana Center will be showing Patti Cakes, following the journey of an aspiring New Jersey based rapper. The film is being generously provided by the US Embassy and will host a Q&A with French/Khmer filmmaker Davy Chou, following the screening. For something a little closer to home, META House will be screening Site Two from 7pm. The documentary looks at the lives of Cambodian refugees who managed to flee the Khmer Rouge. You can then do a full circle back to hip hop. Something From Nothing will take you on an intimate journey of hip hip exploration. Your guide for the trip: Ice T.
What’s On Stage
Sincerely Grizzly, a three piece band from Australia, will hit up Show Box from 7pm. Their music style is described as a mix between: ‘indie, punk, alter, post rock, post hardcore & mathcore(?).’ Ace of Spades, bringing their echoes of ballads and 90’s bangers, will host Alchemy from 8pm. For live music and a huge burger, head over to the Hard Rock cafe from 8pm for a pop tribute night. The big one tonight will be the block party from 8pm on Bassac lane, hosted by the Box Chords.
What’s On Late
DJ Gang and DJ Funkii Pro take the decks at Pontoon from 9pm. Across the street DJ Ryu Suzuki and Moto will be raising (figuratively) the roof at Dusk to Dawn (Reggae Bar).
Saturday
What’s On Screen
For an afternoon of Wes Anderson goodness: Isle of Dogs will be screening at 12pm at the Flicks. META House will be showing The Blue Kite at 7pm. The film explores topics related to the political and social upheavals in the 1950s and 1960s China. As a result it has subsequently been banned by the Chinese government.
What’s On Stage
Saturday night kicks off with Lisa Conception at Botanico from 7pm. The 99 Boyz take the stage at Alchemy from 8pm: the soulful side chick of Hypnotic Fist Technique will get you grooving to all those nostalgic feels. While Cloud is hosting an evening of Latin Groove with Rox, Jed, Aymen and Andrey from 9pm. Duplex will continue this vibe with its infamous salsa party nights kicking off at 9pm.
What’s On Late
Valy Mo takes the decks at Club Love from 10pm till the wee hours of the morning. While Reggae Bar will host DJ I Am, if you would prefer some open air shape busting.
What’s On The Menu
The Sofitel is providing a real treat for meat lovers this Saturday afternoon. They have some great fleshy offerings from Kobe Beef Sashimi served with Perilla Leaf and Nama Wasabi to the Hida Beef with Truffle.
What Else
The Nou Sary exhibition at the Sofitel is definitely worth a look. The ‘Harvest’ collection is inspired by the lives of people in the Cambodian countryside.

Sunday afternoon seems a great time to let Michael Caine take you on a journey of exploration through cultural revolution of the 1960s. My Generation screens from 4pm at the Flicks.The Post is screening in META House from 7pm and brings new layers of insight to our current situation.

The usual Sunday Sundowner Session will kick off from 5pm at Tacos Kokopelli.

My Big Fat greek Brunch at Chinese House will serve a brunch so delicious from 11am, that your feeling of content will likely outweigh the urge to smash some porcelain.

Finally after a long week hunched over a desk, Krama Yoga is offering the relief you didn’t even know you needed. The shoulder and neck relief workshop will give your body an overdue reset.
