Where to Watch the King’s Birthday Fireworks

The King’s birthday means one thing: spectacular fireworks over the Mekong.

Happy Birthday King Norodom Shiamoni! This can only mean one thing: FIREWORKS. Expect spectacular displays over the Mekong on Saturday 14th May.

You’ll be able to see the impressive show from anywhere on Riverside, so pick a spot on the top floor of one of the many bars. This is great excuse to take advantage of the FCC’s excellent happy hour cocktail list – or check out super-classy rooftop lounge Le Moon, on St 154.

Want to watch for free? If it’s not raining. bring a picnic rug and settle down on the grass outside the Royal Palace for a chilled open air view of the fireworks.

Alternatively, for something really special, Kanika Boat is offering a King’s Birthday firework dinner cruise for $22. Give them a ring on 089-848-959 / 017-915-812 to book.

The King’s Birthday celebrations don’t end today – it’s also an extra long weekend, with public holidays on Monday and Tuesday.

So: the big question is, how are you going to make the most of it?
