Work With Disability? Last Call to Register for the Cambodian National Rehabilitation Conference

Calling physical, speech and occupational therapists, social workers, educators and psychologists: there’s still time to register for Wednesday’s Rehabilitation Conference in Phnom Penh.

Calling physical, speech and occupational therapists, social workers, educators and psychologists: there’s still time to register for Wednesday’s Rehabilitation Conference in Phnom Penh.

What’s It About?

Held at the HCVI Library at the National Paediatric Hospital, the conference aims to help people working in all areas of the country’s rehabilitation field to better understand their own system. The idea is to give these professionals a clear idea of what services are available and how to access them.

Why Is it Important?

After they’ve received any emergency medical treatment, patients still need to learn to live with their disabilities. The rehabilitation process is vital for helping people with disabilities to be as independent as possible and to enjoy the best quality of life.

Anything Else?

The conference organisers will also use this as an opportunity to map out the country’s rehabilitation system, strengthen networks and facilitate referrals, create a database for sharing intervention resources, highlight and successful approaches and methods, and reiterate why rehabilitation is such an important (but overlooked) part of medical care in Cambodia.

How Do I Sign Up?

To register, visit the conference’s official website here, or email raphaelfreitas@hcvi.org. Capacity is limited to 180 people.
