What’s better than a lovely cup of tea? A lovely cup of BOOZY tea, of course. Enter Elbow Room’s latest concoction, part of their soon-to-be-released cocktail sharing menu.
The Sharing Cocktails
Elbow’s brand new sharing menu will feature cocktails big enough to be shared by groups of 4-6 people.
The team have taken inspiration from the rich and fascinating culture and history of Punch (flowing bowls of spirits, juices, sugar, tea, and citrus oils) which predate cocktails by 200 years, as well as the tropical drink culture of the 1930s and 40s in the USA.
Love Oolong Time
Among the most exciting on the list is the amusingly named Love Oolong Time (say it out loud), which the team say is designed to conjure up “romantic memoirs of an Italian soldier who defected to the Far East during the Great War.”
The drink is served from an ornamental teapot, with cups and saucers. It features Oolong tea-infused Dry Gin, Campari, Cocchi Americano (a bitter-sweet aromatized wine), fresh lime, cane sugar and a Yuzu-Grapefruit Shrub.
Basically, it’s like a huge, exotic Negroni, lengthened with citrus and sugar. It’s bitter, sweet, sour and strong, all at once.
As well as the Love Oolong Time, two other historic punches will be on offer, recreated from centuries-old recipes. A different “weekly punch” will also be on the specials board each week.
The fabulous sharing menu launches in just a couple of weeks… we’ll keep you posted! In the meantime, you can still treat yourself to these gorgeous End-of-Day cocktails for just $4, every night of the week.
