Light Up the Sky: Where to Watch the Water Festival Fireworks

As the Water Festival kicks off in Phnom Penh, huge firework displays will also light up the night sky. Where better to take in the show than atop a sleek sky bar with panoramic views?

With so many skyscrapers appearing around the city, your options certainly aren’t limited. Here are some of our favourite firework-watching spots.

Diamond Palace Resort and Sky Bar

Centrally located, a short hop from Bassac Lane, Diamond Palace Resort and Sky Bar offers a great hot spot for city views. As well as the lush pool and stylish decor, there’s a great menu to munch through as you look across the night sky of Phnom Penh.

This swanky boutique rooftop bar and restaurant is going all out. Enjoy a Khmer Live Band (02/11), DJ Snow Y (03/11) & DJ Shaman (04/11).

There’s a big buffet priced at $28 per person, or $14 for children (6pm – late).

Le Moon Terrace Bar

Conveniently placed on riverside, this boozy hotspot offers up 3-for-2 on Tiger beers during the Water Festival. An ideal place to watch the daytime boat races, and upwards at night for the fireworks.

Moon Pizza Sky Bar

Pizza, pool and panoramic views: it’s a gem. We contacted Moon Pizza to ask if they had any special events planned for the Water Festival and they told us to keep their eyes peeled for an event perhaps appearing on their facebook soon. Mysterious!
