A great evening of live music is being offered by Backstreet tonight with Vince Solomon’s skeptical Chemistry and Phnom Penh’s quirkiest new act Wind Up MIce taking the stage from 8pm.

19:00, Phnom Penh Mini Film Festival, META House, St. 240

META is hosting an evening of 5 short films and documentaries made by foreign directors in Cambodia. The night of screening will include Greg Cahill’s Golden Voice about the legendary Ros Sereysothea.

 

 

Boueng Kak from Amit Dubey tells the story of two warring gangs who settle things in the most fun way in the old lakeside neighbourhood. 

 

 

We complete the great list with Steve Row’s Don’t Scream and Hitler’s Drug by Alessandro Molatore and Le Plateau by nès Elichondoborde. 

Later in the evening DJ Tommy Schultz begins the sesh.

Yes, you read that correctly. It sounds weird. It sounds creepy. It sounds like it may involve puppet cannibalism. It also sounds kind of excellent and has been touring Asia for the past 6 months so get weird and check it out. You know that we are all a little puppet-curious.

One of Taiwan’s biggest hip-hop DJs brings a new school and early 2000s vibes in what will be one of the biggest seshes of the weekend.

Enjoy an evening of Italian films in the lovely gardens of META House including Io Capitano, teling the story of two young lads making their way from Dakar to Europe.

Enjoy some good -terrible-average comedy in what is always a fun night or get up on stage and give it a go yourself and cringe at the times you have muttered ‘Oh I can definitely do this better.’
