Lo-Key Stakes Showcase: 4 Mini Plays

This Saturday the Speakeasy Theatre will host the 7th Lo-Key Stakes Showcase evening. It’s a night of four mini plays shown once at 6pm and once at 8pm. The entry is $10 and is perfect for those who love theater but struggle with short attention spans.

The four stories have been written in Europe, North and South America and will all be showcased in good ole Phnom Penh.

The Show Lineup

First on the schedule is Overrated Sex. Yes, this may usually be last on the Saturday night agenda for many of you but let’s mix it up this week. The play follows Soledad and Hernan hitting a bit of a wall in their relationship, so they turn to a couples therapist for help. The Argentinian playwright Jorgelina Vera may just have you all in stitches and questioning what you know about love and shagging.

Second up we have Hell. This is the story of Lizzie as she looks back at the impact both she and an alternate version of herself have left behind. It will make you consider hopes, dreams and usually that thing that we don’t consider until Sunday morning…regret.

Smart? Nah is on third and follows the torturous story of a protagonist who loses her phone on a night out and the darkest depths that she is willing to traverse to get precious wee device back to her.

The 4th and Final Part of the evening is Murderous Intent. This is a murder mystery that grips the city over who killed Lord Ashcroft.

Saturday the 13th will host two shows from 6pm and 8pm at the Box Office on St. 244. Get your tickets here
